Proudly providing veterinary services to all creatures, great and small

Dr Madelyn Melchiors

Where it started.

Dr. Madelyn grew up in Dewey, Arizona with a love for animals, as it always starts off that way. Her desire to become a veterinarian started with chronic illness in her pet house rabbit. The idea to be an animal doctor strengthened as she worked with various senior equines at a local therapeutic riding center, Horses with HEART. She was determined to give back to this community one day as a veterinarian, helping the horses who help touch so many lives.

Experience.

Dr. Madelyn is highly experienced in many areas of veterinary medicine including beef cattle herd health, equine herd health, small animal medicine, surgery, and emergency services. She is frequently undertaking continuing education to improve her skills and knowledge to best serve her diverse types of patients.

Education.

After graduating from Orme School in Mayer AZ, Dr Madelyn moved to Canyon, Texas where she completed her Bachelors Degree in Equine Industry and Business. Fort Collins, Colorado became home next as she was accepted into Colorado State University’s Veterinary program. Upon completion of 8 years of higher education, Dr Madelyn obtained her certificate in animal medical acupuncture from Curacore and later on a certificate in animal chiropractic from Options for Animals in Olathe, Kansas. She is a member of the International Veterinary Chiropractic Association.

Service Areas.

Dr. Madelyn resides in the Kingman area but frequently travels to the Prescott area, Wickenburg, and Mesa. Copper Cactus Veterinary Care can arrange travel to extended regions on an as-needed basis
